One of the most powerful names in the Eastern IT market Jalan Infotech of Kolkata has grown to a distribution powerhouse in the past ten years. Led by the charismatic Arun Jalan, the company has made a successful venture into the world of retailing through its two mega showrooms named Avenue Q.

7.00 AM

Arun starts his day with an hour of light jogging followed with some light freehand exercises. He enjoys the serenity of the morning hour and this daily activity ensures that he is fit to face the rest of the stressful day with good cheer.

9.15 AM

Arun is a firm believer in God. Before he leaves home for work, he offers a little prayer in the temple and asks for His blessings.

9.30 AM

Driving all the way! Just like he likes to put his business on the fast track, Arun does the same with his car as well. He loves driving his Honda City, even in the congested Kolkata lanes.

10.00 AM

Arun takes a quick briefing from his staff about the day's activities and schedules along with brother Praveen, who is the other pillar of the Jalan business. These morning interactions really help Arun to keep in touch with his people and set the right note for building business through the day.

11.30 AM

As the chief of Jalan Infotech, signing cheques and keeping an eye on the important documents are his regular activities. While doing so Jalan also makes it a point to finish some important calls too.

Recently Jalan Infotech made its foray into the retail world with two plush showrooms. Christened Avenue Q, the two outlets are situated at Alipur and Mango Lane. From his Hazra office, Arun makes consequent visits to the two showrooms.

5.30 PM

Managing finance is the most intricate task of any business. Before leaving for the day, Arun makes it a point to spend some time with his accounts department. Taking a complete report of daily activities from his accounts team is on his priority list.

9.30 pm

The Jalan family make it a point to meet up for dinner without fail. Like every joint family, the dining table is where they share their individual thoughts and tales about their day. And Arun enjoys every bit of it immensely.
