Canon has emerged as the dark horse in
the Inkjet printer segment. It secured the #1 position in the market
leaving its competitors behind. Though there are not many players in
this area but HP, Samsung and Epson have also managed to prove their
stand in this segment. HP seems to be the most favored in the overall
product quality section by securing the highest number of points in
the technological leadership and overall reliability of products.
Whereas Samsung and Epson have managed to capture the marketing
support space with their ability to provide satisfactory repair and
replacement services. Epson has also enhanced the technical expertise
of the channel partners by solving their problems. With its
all-in-one delivery and unprecedented printing flexibility, Canon has
been able to hold its grip in the after-sales support for customers.
Its impressive print speed and vivid resolutions further underline
the value of these compact machines. The interesting part is that
Canon has missed out by just 1% in the overall product quality which
defines the demand of the product. Epson needs to buck up in its
sales support section else it might create hurdles for it to survive
in this segment.
The profit margins given by Canon in
terms of promptness within the local schemes and incentive programs
seem to have gone down well with the channel partners and customers.
This has affected Canon in a huge way by giving maximum transparency
in commercial terms and conditions and back- nd incentives and its
settlement. Canon has also introduced an array of inkjet all-in-one
printers to strengthen its portfolio for deepening and widening its
technology reach for customers. While, Epson has also managed to make
its mark in the overall product quality where it has crossed over
even HP in terms of conformations to specifications.
