Accusys ties up with XServe to enter India

Taiwan-based RAID product vendor Accusys has ventured into the Indian market through a tie-up with XServe to market its
range of external ATA storage solutions. The company has a strategic tie-up with Wistron, the parent
company of XServe, and hence the arrangement. Through this tie-up Accusys will be introducing Acuta4, a 4-drive RAID-controlled storage
solution. This product can offer up to 2 TB of storage, is plug-n-play, and comes with USB
and Firewire support.

In addition to Acuta4, the vendor will also be introducing a 3-drive internal RAID solution for the Indian market. Talking more
about company's plans for the Indian market, Samuel Chiang, Regional Manager (Middle East),
Accusys says, “With this product we would target small and mid-sized organizations as well as home/SOHO customers.” He further informs that the
company would largely run extensive awareness campaigns across the channel community and also among end-users about its
product, for the next three-four years.

“Acuta4's price-points would start upwards of Rs 55,000 and will go up to Rs
1.5 lakh. Apart from talking to our regular channel partners, we would also be looking at tie-ups with Apple's partner base,” informs SR Prasanna Kumar,
Sr Product Manager, XServe India.
