Acer beats the slowdown with slew of launches

New Delhi: During this time of downturn most vendors are laying low with their launches and adopting new strategies. Launches are not featuring high on the list of priorities for most companies. But Acer on the other hand is tuning in to the demands of its customers and has recently unveiled a range of PCs and netbooks to cater to the growing needs of PC users. The launches are a part of  the Acer Group's
multi-brand strategy.

A year since the announcement of its multi-brand strategy, deployed to guarantee an effective integration of Acer, Gateway, Packard Bell and eMachines in the market, Acer is changing its look. It's doing this with a range of products not only aesthetically different, but also innovative and fully featured. In line with the customer segment Acer wanted to keep in contact with the techno-leaders, users strongly attracted by technology and innovation that are considered as tools to make life easier and to make improvements towards the next level.  

The vendor has launched two dozen products ranging from wide-screen, all-in-one PCs to nettops. The theme that runs through all the launches is long battery life, low prices and optimizing efficiency. With a new multi-brand strategy Acer has been able to set user targets and identify the ideals these users aspire to, and then develop products that reflect their desires and needs.

Storming the market

The new Acer Aspire Timeline series of notebooks reduce energy consumption to the minimum. It is said to offer more than eight hours battery life. Specifically designed for energy-efficient performance, the Aspire Timeline series features numerous solutions, including: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Ultra Low Voltage solutions and Intel Display Power Savings Technology (iDPST) that reduces display backlight with minimum visual impact, saving up to 33 percent energy compared to typical notebooks. As a result, the system efficiency is greatly increased, reducing power consumption and boosting battery life by up to 40 percent.

Acer introduced the Acer AspireRevo, the new nettop that offers advanced graphic capabilities for full enjoyment of multimedia contents in high definition. In desktops the new all-in-one Acer Aspire Z5600 PC is engineered to maximize the usage of the operating system called Windows 7.

The Aspire 8935 can accommodate 2 HDDs for a maximum capacity of up to 1TB of capacity, while the Aspire 5935 be equipped with up to 500GB HDD. In designing the Aspire 3935, Acer created a notebook characterized by a distinctive personality that reflects the character and style of its owner. eMachines introduced a new line of notebooks combining simplified design and affordable, proven components to offer value and performance. The new designs of the eMachines notebooks reflect the third stage of the Acer multi-brand strategy.

The EZ1600 is the new All-in-one PC by eMachines. It looks like a simple flat-screen TV, but the EZ1600 is actually an all-in-one PC that integrates all its computing components right inside the LCD panel. Available in two versions, shiny black or white, the new eMachines EZ1600 is an intuitive PC with a price-quality advantage created with both young-ones in mind and for those taking their first steps towards technology.
