Acer launches TravelMate 6291 notebook

Acer India announced the launch of its ultra portable Acer TravelMate 6291
notebook based on Intel's latest Intel CoreT2 Duo mobile processor T5500 with
Vista Business.

The new notebook is part of the new design notebooks from Acer whose design
team worked with BMW Group DesignworksUSA to study design trends, develop the
concept and visualize new forms.

The ProFile design Notebook asserts portability, protection and adaptable
usability. The TravelMate 6291 uses the Intel CoreT2 Duo mobile processor T5500
(2 MB L2 cache, 1.66/667 MHz FSB), supporting Intel 64 architecture, Mobile
Intel 945GM Express chipset and Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN along with
better graphics and signal integrity using the N Wireless platform and comes
with a 160 GB HDD, an Acer statement said. With a 12.1" WXGA Acer
CrystalBriteT TFT LCD display and system memory of 1GB RAM upgradeble up to 4GB,
the Acer TravelMate 6291 comes equipped with battery life up to five hours. Its
ePowerManagement allows to choose the power management setting to extend the
battery time. Additionally Acer SignalUp and Acer GridVista technologies have
been incorporated for better wireless connectivity as well as optimized display
management.

"We are the first to launch the latest notebook with Intel Core2 Duo
Notebook and Vista Business in India with the Ultra portable TravelMate 6291. It
is now available in the market through our retail network in over 110 cities and
towns across India," said Rajendran, general manager, Sales and Marketing,
Acer India.

It is priced at Rs 47,499, the TravelMate 6291 comes with an embedded DVD
writer and also with Acer CrystalBrite technology and enhanced LCD display.
