ACMA new committee introduces compulsory stamp for members

Ahmedabad Computer Manufacturers Association (ACMA) held its annual elections recently and elected its new committee
members. The new members have also introduced a unique concept at the annual general meeting
(AGM) for its members. Now all the ACMA members will have to compulsorily put the
ACMA stamp on their bills of sale.

"By introducing this seal, lot of malpractices will be reduced and members will also be encouraged to follow the guidelines of
the association in the future. One of the main foci of the association this year is to increase the
number of members from the current 180 to 250 and we hope that by introducing this seal non-members would be encouraged to join the
association. In fact, we have planned to introduce ad campaigns and spend from our own pocket to make end users aware on this front
encouraging them to purchase solely from our members," said newly appointed VP of ACMA Sanjay
Tayal.

ACMA has even planned to aggressively advertise in local newspapers to increase awareness on the association, by
introducing regular editorial columns highlighting their achievements. "One of the main foci this year
would also be to purchase an office. We have always been having meetings at our offices and by having committee's own office it would bring about a lot
of professionalism. Issues related to local channels would also be taken up seriously like we have done in the past in our next
meeting to be held on July," said newly appointed president of ACMA RG Patel. 

"This year we are also looking at memberships from distributors and put them under a special category called 'Corporate
Members', which would be a life time membership," added Patel.

In fact, ACMA ex-president Naishabh Diwanji would still be active at the board and would continue with his activities. The
committee members had not been changed for more than two years and this year's committee saw the
introduction of new faces as compared to earlier years. 

"The previous committee would be actively involved as they have been responsible to create the current membership base and
also the corpus funds. 

But now, ACMA has decided to introduce new faces every year in the committee," added
Tayal.
