Trekking, rappelling, river rafting, skiing-Jayant Gundewar, Chief
Strategies Officer of WeP Peripherals has done it all. Any sport that gets
Gundewar adrenalin pumping, he immediately jumps onto it

It all started when Gundewar was in college. Once he got together with a
bunch of friends and they trekked all night long to Matheran.

That adrenalin rush made Gundewar seek several extreme adventure sports. He
has rappelled, gone white water rafting at Rishikesh, and had also taken nature
trails in Bandipur National Park. In fact, he has now inculcated a practice in
WeP to have internal meetings out in the open, in areas virtually untouched by
civilization, rather than in conference rooms.

“We have our team meetings at places like Coorg. There is hardly any
connectivity there. We don't have presentations even. Instead we make our
reports on papers, and simply share the details orally,” Gundewar revealed.

In fact, often WeP ties up with adventure groups like Pegasus who take the
team to unusual locales and then teach them some real life skills. Gundewar
recalles how on one trip, WeP employees had to assemble a tent blindfolded, with
a colleague prodding them with information on how to

go about.

Not just his team, he has even injected this passion for the outdoors in his
family. His wife and seven-year-old son accompany him on nature camps, where
they live in makeshift tents and enjoy leading a rustic life. So much so that
his son now even dislikes staying in hotels on any of the family vacations.

Gundewar's recent trip was to an elephant park in Tushal Nagar where he and
his family lived amidst a herd of elephants. They even bathed some of the
elephants under the guidance of a mahout at a river, an experience that Gundewar
says is next to none.
