Allied Telesyn to launch fast-moving mobility solutions

Allied Telesyn will soon become the first company in India to
introduce fast-moving mobility solutions. The company obtained this expertise
after it acquired Tokyo-based Root Inc, a small but growing pioneer in the
development of high-speed wireless communication solutions.

"These are first of its kind solutions capable of
uninterrupted mobile communication during high-speed transit of 300km per
hour," said Rajesh Sahore, Country Manager - India, Allied Telesyn
International (Asia).

According to Rajesh, the market potential for fast-moving
mobility solutions is limitless. "We are looking at selling this solution
to the Highway Authority, the Railways, even for the Rural WiFi projects, or to
authorities monitoring terrorism," said he.

In Japan, Root Inc has already deployed high-speed wireless
access solutions in various locations. The company's technical capabilities
have attracted attention from other countries as well, which has been adopted by
the Hong Kong subway.

"The system can be used to monitor terrorism on moving
trains using IP-based CCTV. Moreover, it also allows passenger on high-speed
train to utilize general purposed IP-based communication like accessing
broadband Internet connection," Rajesh claimed.

In a demonstration experiment Root was able to realize
108Mbps broadband network with 5GHz, thereby making 100 Mbps mobile
communication a reality and feasible option. Allied Telesyn is a member of the
Allied Telesis Group (ATI) and had acquired Root as a wholly owned subsidiary
through an exchange of shares in March 2005. Root has a good record offering
state-of-the-art solutions in the mobile IP communications field including
development of wireless LAN products and mobile IP.

Meanwhile, the company has announced the launch of its authorized service
partner program in Asia Pacific. This will help it distinguish partners for the
service they provide to ensure that customers consistently receive a high level
of technical support. A partner who is enrolled for this program will be
officially recognized by Allied Telesyn as an authorized service and support
partner and the vendor will promote his business on its websites. He will also
have direct access to Allied Telesyn's technical service.
