AMD strikes it big with notebooks and retail outlet

AMD Far East India partnered with SMC International to bring a new range of
notebooks by the end of November 2004, preparations for which are in the final
stages.

"We will target the home segment, SMEs/SMBs for our new notebooks at an
attractive price" said Sanjeev Keskar, Country Manager, AMD.

PK Jain, Director, SMC International said, "Our partnership with AMD is
more than four years old now. As far as our experience with the market with
respect to AMD's products is concerned, it is very good. People will hear
everything about it very soon." The main attractions of these notebooks are
AMD processor's effective battery backup and virus resistance.

Inaugurated first exclusive AMD brand outlet at Nehru Place to foray into retail business

Apart from bringing out notebooks, AMD inaugurated its first exclusive brand
outlet 'SMC International' at Nehru Place, New Delhi to foray into retail
business. It displays and sells the complete range of AMD processors. Sanjeev
said, "This outlet will provide customers a touch and feel experience
through demo zones to sample AMD machines before buying the product."
