Artek Enterprises : Government Focus

New Delhi-based Artek Enterprises took some key decisions in 2007-08. One of
them was to open branches in J&K and Madhya Pradesh besides Delhi and Gurgaon.
The second decision was to get active in the government vertical. Having taken
these decisions, the company was able to deploy major projects with the Indian
Army Northern Command, West Central Railway Jabalpur and Northeastern Railway
Varanasi, which triggered growth for the company this fiscal.

The above projects helped Artek clock a turnover of Rs 91 crore in 2007-08,
up 30 percent from the previous fiscal of Rs 70 crore. The company has plans to
foray into solutions around videoconferencing, security and surveillance. Artek
has tied up with Sony for providing solutions around the same. Last year the
company also hired 23 employees to beef up its marketing strategy.

Distribution business ushered growth for Artek to the extent of 46 percent.
The company garnered major revenues by distributing D-Link products.
