Arun Gupta: Darting the Right Way

For an engineering graduate like Arun Gupta, faith is the key that enforces ethics to make it a success story in the long run. And the pillars that stand behind the philosophy and phenomenal strength of Darts IT Networks are; 'dedication, honesty, knowledge and promptness'.
After gradutaing from Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) in 1985, Gupta served Larsen & Toubro for two years. But he wanted to serve the society and champion the cause of a common man with true zeal. He cleared the UPSC examination in 1989 that gave him an opportunity to be a part of the Indian Railways, a career choice few would refuse. Gupta worked for the Indian Railways for more than a decade. He went through the most challenging phase and accomplished some major tasks. During his stint with the railways, he played a crucial role in the construction of the Ajmeri Gate side of the New Delhi railway station.
Technology has always been close to his heart, and he co-founded Integrix in 2000. Later, with an idea to offer world class IT networking services to customers, Gupta established Darts IT Networks in 2005. "The single most important achievement for Darts has been the recognition of its real customer-centric approach," he said. According to Gupta, Cisco recognized Darts in the area of customer satisfaction excellence, and said that there have been other achievements in technical front that include-the most technology specialized Cisco Premier Partner in the world.
Darts IT Networks implemented IT setup at Sahara Amby Valley Lake City, near Lonavala which was boasted to be the first high-tech resort city of India. Gupta said that, they are now focusing on international customers, who really value the relationship with them, and see it as value addition to their business. The company became the first Cisco SMB Specialized Partner in India in 2007, and won a quiz organized by Cisco, 'The Technobiz Mastermind' in 2006, which enabled them to showcase their networking knowledge all across the country. Darts IT Networks offers design, installation, support and maintenance to IT networks for organizations in the country.
With headquarters in New Delhi, the company has operations across the country, and maintains offices in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Pune. Recollecting the past Gupta says, "When I started my IT career in 2000, the networking industry was very small and the 'dot-com bubble' that burst a few years ago had left the technology sector in a tough situation. I had almost thought of shutting down the business and start looking for a job. Luckily for me and Darts IT Networks, we got a big order which saved us from calling it quits."
Besides being an avid reader, Gupta manages to take out time for yoga every morning. He also maintains a perfect balance between his personal and professional life, and takes out time for social activities. "My family is not very demanding, and I get time to take care of my hobbies like watching Bollywood masala movies. It keeps rejuvenating me from the hectic business activities," he added.
Gupta does not like the prevalent market mantras for success that revolve around target meeting and expediency. Gupta derives strength from his ethics that are his biggest asset, and it does not allow him to be aggressive in the market. "I am someone who always believes in quality over quantity," Gupta concluded.
