Arun Kakkar is new president of Ghaziabad association

After much delay and dissatisfaction amongst the dealer community, the
Ghaziabad Computer Association finally held its election on recently. Arun
Kakkar of Nutek Computers was unanimously elected as the President of the newly
formed managing committee while Gopal Sharma of Apson Computers has been
appointed as the secretary.

The other office bearers include Vivek Singhal of Computer Care as VP, Sishir
Agarwal of ASRG International as Treasurer and Sanjeev Mittal of Zee Enterprises
as Joint Secretary. Around 40 dealers participated in the election process.

Kakkar said that the elections were supposed to be held in the month of
April, but due to some reasons, it kept getting delayed. This in turn was
affecting the channel community in the city, as they did not have a single
platform to raise issues.

But the new executive council will now have to work quickly to take on the
various issues affecting partners. Kakkar said, “My immediate mandate is to
increase the number of members within the association from 40 to at least 120.”
Prior to the recently held elections, the association boasted of 80 active
members. But owing to reduced initiative from the executive council and the
organization of very few channel activities more than half of them discontinued
their memberships.

Having learnt from this incident, Kakkar is now keen on holding meetings on a
regular basis, so that issues concerning dealers can be taken into
consideration. He also informed that a number of companies like Samsung, HP,
Intex an others had opened their service centers in Ghaziabad, which was saving
them from a lot of service issues. However, they were also planning to hold
discussions with Seagate, wherein they would request the company to come up with
a service center in Ghaziabad as well.
