New Update

The recession has not touched Ashtech Infotech, which touched a revenue of Rs
126 crore in 2007-08, up from Rs 72 crore the previous year, with a growth of 75
percent. In 2007-08 too, it was able to register a healthy growth, which shows
that it has got its strategies well in place to tackle the general slowdown in
the market.

50 percent of Ashtech's revenues came from solution providing while the rest
came from distribution as well as services. Last year the company tied up with
LG and Samsung. For the current year, the company has decided to continue with
its existing distribution alliances rather than tying up with more vendors, to
help it focus more on the solutions space. The company also tied up with
LabVantage, a US-based third party application software vendor as well as
Network Appliances. Ashtech still continues to have a stronger regional presence
in the West as the region contributed 90 percent of its overall revenues.
Currently the company has 233 employees, which it hopes to increase to 250 in
the next fiscal, especially in the sales and services divisions.
