Asus launches motherboard with Gbit LAN and Serial ATA RAID

Asus has announced the launch of P4R800-V Deluxe, an integrated motherboard that supports Gigabit LAN, Serial ATA and RAID 0,1,0+1 functions. It also enables an 800 MHz system bus and a dual-channel DDR 400 memory design. Based on ATI's RADEON 9100I GP chipset, it is a high-performance solution ready for the future Intel Prescott processor.

According to the press release, the motherboard leverages flexible input/output features for an excellent home entertainment system. It incorporates both S-Video and composite TV-out ports for convenient television connection and both optical and coaxial S/PDIF-out ports to support surround sound audio. In addition, the motherboard comes equipped with one IEEE 1394 port at the back panel and one on-board for high-speed digital data transfer.

The release further states that with the Asus LAT (LAN Acceleration Technology), the P4R800-V Deluxe streamlines networking operation by connecting the Gigabit controller directly to the northbridge as compared to conventional motherboard, which utilizes the Southbridge to handle Gigabit LAN applications. Furthermore, the RADEON 9100IGP also integrated a PCI 66 controller to provide larger bandwidth at 266MB/s

The P4R800-V Deluxe comes equipped with the Wi-Fi slot, which supports the Asus Wi-Fi@HOME platform. This motherboard is priced at Rs 6,990 and also incorporates the Asus Intelligence (AI) features.
