At Home In India

You can take a man out of Symantec, but you can't take Symantec out of a man.
This is the best way to sum up Darrell Riddle, who has been with the company for
over 15 years and thinks and lives infrastructure security. He thoroughly enjoys
making trips to India, even volunteering when a visit to the country is
suggested, because he feels that the people here are very open to ideas and
technologies

Frequency of visits to India: I have visited India over six to seven
times in the past three years.

What I like about India: The people here are fantastic and welcoming.
Since India is a dynamic market, they are genuinely willing to listen to new
ideas that we as a company might present to them. Also, they are forthcoming
with their viewpoint, which makes it a pleasure to talk to them. This

is why I love to volunteer for any trips to India.

What I dislike about India: During most of my trips, I often had to
deal with errant drivers, which can be very annoying. Also I find the behavior
of the people at the airport luggage conveyor belt very irritable, with a lot of
pushing and shoving involved to grab bags.

What I look forward to in India: The cuisine here is mind blowing and
since I don't get good Indian food where I live, I make it a point to dig into
it every time I am here. I also love shopping for my daughter and wife and have
picked up saris and some other souvenirs for them.

One thing about India that has stuck to my mind: I feel sad looking at the
poverty in the country. I remember when I was driving one time a woman actually
handed over a half dead child to me, asking me to take him to America, where he
would have a better chance at life.
