Simultaneous access to multiple HDMI
audio/video sources has become a prevalent need. Everyday HDMI
devices are becoming more popular in environments such as home
theater, businesses, entertainment and education. The VM0404H from
ATEN's VanCryst Professional A/V Solutions product line allows
consumers to style="font-weight: normal;"> style="background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%; -moz-background-clip: border; -moz-background-origin: padding; -moz-background-inline-policy: continuous;">easily
connect
up to four HDMI devices such as HD camcorders, satellite
receivers, HD-DVD players, Blu-ray p style="background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 0%; -moz-background-clip: border; -moz-background-origin: padding; -moz-background-inline-policy: continuous;">layers,
home
theater PCs, streaming media players, or gaming consoles. Their
inputs can then be switched to any combination of up to four HDMI
monitors, displays, projectors or TVs simultaneously. The matrix
switch can be cascaded with other VM0404Hs in order to provide up to
64 HDMI sources/displays for, as an example, digital signage
systems.

The VM0404H's remote control and
convenient front panel push-buttons allow users to quickly and easily
cycle through and select the HDMI sources and displays while the
front panel LEDs indicate the source device for each display at a
glance. The switch also has a built-in bi-directional RS-232 serial
interface which allows system control through either a high-end
controller, PC, home automation and home theater software package.

The new HDMI Matrix Switch supports
HDTV resolutions of 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p and also video protocols
including VGA, SVGA, SXGA, UXGA, and WUXGA. It is compliant with HDMI
1.3b, HDCP 1.1 and HDMI CEC. The VM0404H provides a refresh frequency
of 60 Hz with a maximum cable distance of 20 meters using 24 AWG and
15 meters using 28 AWG. One feature adding to the switch's superior
sound quality is that it fully supports DOLBY True HD and DTS HD
Master Audio compliant devices. With the audio-enabled function,
there is no requirement for a separate set of speakers for each
source. Another user-friendly feature is its power on detection,
which allows the VM0404H to automatically switch to the other
powered-on computer when either is shut down.
