Ban on Lenovo lifted in Amravati

Amravati Computer Dealers Association (ACDA) has lifted the ban that it had
imposed on sale of Lenovo products in the city since December 2007.

The ban was imposed following a payment related issue that occurred when ACDA
organized an exhibition in December 2007. Lenovo was the co-sponsor for the
event and it had to pay Rs 1 lakh to the association. “Because of some
misunderstanding between the Area Sales Manager of Lenovo, who did not
communicate to the company about the internal fund submission, we did not get
the promised funds on time. This is why we imposed the ban on Lenovo products
and the representative is also not in Lenovo anymore,” added Rajiv Gupta,
President, ACDA.

Buoyed by this response, the company has also set-up two exclusive showrooms
and is putting a lot of thrust on the retail initiatives in the city. Lenovo
plans to organize frequent dealer meetings in Amravati to track dealer and
customer response to its product sale. Besides, it will conduct intensive dealer
training programs to educate them on up selling Lenovo products and also keep
them informed about new launches.
