New Update

Gammon India Ltd is the only Indian construction company to have been
accredited with ISO 9001 certification for all fields of civil engineering works
including design. It has a vast team of planners, designers and construction
engineers who are working on improving the public and private infrastructure map
of India. The company was using a third party mail hosting solution, which had a
catchall account where all the mails were getting accumulated. An Mdeamon server
was located at its main location to fetch the mails from this catchall account.

The anti-spam solution used to catch the spam mails, but the end-user and the
IT team never used to come to know about the same. But often some crucial mails
also got trapped in this mire. The IT team then had to call the service provider
every time a particular mail was caught in spam and release those mails.

There was no way the client could monitor the total incoming mail flow for
their domain. Gammon needed a solution, which would let it have control over the
spam that was being cached and also monitor it on a periodical basis. This is
when it decided to try out Netcore's Emergic Clean Mail (EMC). As a managed
e-mail security service, Emergic CleanMail protects the e-mail infrastructure
by operating at the Internet level, close to the source of e-mail threats. It
filters every message in seconds before it is even delivered to your corporate
network.

How it helped

One thing that Gammon's IT team was clear about was not having to spend a
substantial part of their day managing the risks of e-mail. They needed a
solution that could manage and control the information needed for understanding
e-mail traffic while at the same time monitor how this was being used with a
clear view of the threats and protection levels.

In this scenario EMC was fast and easy to implement. “This managed e-mail
security solution is designed to meet the needs of today's enterprises making it
simple to manage and control your e-mail security policy,”

said Kalpit Jain of Netcore Technologies.

Solutions provided

There is yet another reason why Gammon chose EMC. The solution had various
modules of which some were:

Spam Digest: Spam Digest provides, end-users access to their personal
Quarantine Area. The user receives a mail with a summary of messages intended to
him, which are classified as spam and were quarantined. Further on the user can
view or release the quarantined mails without any interference from
administrator or IT help desk.

ECM Dashboard: It gives information on e-mail activity and potential threats.

Emergic Fleximail: The mail hosting space was provided by Netcore. A catchall
account was also created.

Mail Flow Setup: All the incoming mails are being scanned by ECM. The clean
mails are further delivered to the catchall account. The IT Team has a check on
the e-mail traffic via ECM Dashboard. This brought about transparency of
service.
