BITA launches its website

Bihar IT Trade Association (BITA) recently launched its website
www.biharitassociation.com. The website gives complete information about the
association. It has members address, and provision for new members to join.
"It is a part of our member enhancement drive, and one can get the complete
update about BITA. This was conceptualized in order to exchange information
related to IT not just among members but anyone who is interested to know. This
will also make communication more interactive," said PK Sinha, Treasurer,
BITA.

Apart from the website, the association would come out with a newsletter very
soon.

Meanwhile, the Association has divided its administration into five zones as
under Bhagalpur (East), Sasaram (West), Muzzaffarpur (North), Gaya (South), and
Patna (Central) and will elect zonal heads and entrust them with the
responsibility of handling IT related issues in their respective regions. The
zonal representatives will also gather local complaints that will later be
discussed during the general meetings of the Association. On being asked the
reason behind this division, Sinha said, "We have done this so that we have
representations from various parts of the state. The criteria of selection are
simple. We will judge representatives according to their turnover, credibility
in the market and proximity to the region. Our core member of 19 executives will
select the representatives." According to Navin Gupta, Secretary, BITA,
this move will help them in making the Association better known among channel
partners.

BITA has also been assigned with the task of providing the Bihar assembly
members with laptops so that they are updated with IT information. The
government has allocated Rs 20 crore for it.
