BITA to hold its first IT fair

Bihar IT association (BITA) is all set to hold an IT trade fair in the first
week of February, in Patna. This is the first time an IT trade fair is going to
be held in Bihar. The government will sponsor the IT trade fair. Elaborating
more on the fair, Prabhat Kumar Sinha, Treasurer, BITA said, “We will be
organizing the event on a small scale as it is the first time we are doing it.
Only select brands like Intel, HP, Microsoft, TVS-E and Epson are invited for
the event. Apart from vendors, distributors like Ingram, Iris and Redington are
invited.” Elaborating more on the fair, Sinha said, “We want to create a
platform where users, dealers, vendors, manufacturer can come together and
discuss their grievances.”

The venue will be Hotel Mauriya, South Gandhi Maidan, Patna. Nitish Kumar,
CM, Bihar, who is also the IT Minister, will be the Chief Guest. “We zeroed in
on Hotel Mauriya from a safety point of view. We cannot have it in an open
ground as a lot of people will be coming from outside and we have to ensure
their safety.”

Though it has been decided that it will be a three-day event, the exact dates
have not yet been finalized. “We had a bit of problems deciding on the dates.
February, being a lean period, partners felt that it wouldn't be a good season
for holding an IT fair, but finally everyone agreed.” The IT fair will be open
to all. “We are expecting a good response with a footfall of around 10,000,”
shared Sinha.
