Brother to double its onsite support centers

Japan-based Brother International has announced its plans to increase its
onsite support centers to 100 by September 2007. At a press conference
announcing the launch of its Indian subsidiary Anand Kumar, GM-Printing and
Solutions Division, Brother India said, “Right now we have around

50 support centers across the country. We plan to increase this to 100 centers
across metros, tier-two and three cities as well.”

The company is also working on enhancing its existing channel policy. It will
add another national IT distributor and the details of this decision will be
announced by April 2007.

The company has launched its Indian subsidiary to improve its operation. This
subsidiary will focus on its printing and solutions business.

Toyomi Ido, Representative Director and President, Brother International
Corporation, Japan, said , “The head office will closely monitor the Indian
operations to ensure that our customers get complete attention and support.”

Seiichi Hirata, Represen­tative Director and President, Brother International
Corpora­tion, Japan added, “We are confident that India along with China will
emerge as a very big contributor to our global business in the future.”

Brother's Indian operation is being set-up with an initial capital of $3
million and will be headquartered in Mumbai. The company will initially have
three branch offices at Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore and will open offices in
Pune and Ahmedabad by next year.
