Canon alliances with Microsoft to create document management office

India has announced the launch of
Canon imageRunner Advance, the next-generation print architecture
platform that will revolutionize the printing industry. Canon also
announced that they have made alliance with Microsoft India to create
a document management office. Canon India's new advanced
multifunctional print architecture platform imageRunner Advance has
been designed to integrate with Microsoft's business collaboration
platform, Microsoft SharePoint to create a better collaborative
workplace.

Building on the success of Canon's
award-winning iR-range and including feedback and insight gained from
customers and partners, the next generation of colour MFPs boast
hundreds of enhancements. For example, a new advanced controller
delivers improved performance through faster processing. Further
enhancements to Canon's industry-first MEAP technology and
partnership alliances with software providers such as Adobe,
Microsoft and NTWare, ensure that integration with common office
systems is straightforward and contributing significantly to improved
operating efficiency and security. The new print architecture
platform will see the introduction of a completely new range of
multi-function printers for the office and light production markets
to ensure efficient and secure document management systems.

Microsoft Office Sharepoint server is a
suite of server capabilities that can help improve productivity of
enterprises through a strong collaborative document management
platform. A recent Forrester report predicts that it is poised to
dominate the collaboration software space in the coming years with
its next-generation features. Canon imageRunner Advance will let
users scan paper documents directly to Microsoft SharePoint by using
buttons on the MFD interface by helping in ensuring enhanced security
of documents while optimizing time and resources in the workplace.
