Canon brings 'PIXMA profit club' program to channel

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Canon India celebrating is increasing its
focus on the east India market. As a first step the company is taking its 'PIXMA
Profit Club' program to the channel partners of east India. Sharing details
about the program V P Sajeevan, Assistant Director, CSP, Canon India said,
"The program is about ensuring channel profitability. As part of the
program various contests for the sales team of the channel community would be
announced regularly besides training sessions, which would focus more on
educating the channel about positioning of Canon's USP."

The program is been running successfully in north India since June and in
Bangalore since August this year. Sajeevan is confident of repeating that
success in the east as well.

Sajeevan also informed that the soft launch of the program has happened in
Guwahati, but the full details would be shared in the upcoming Leader Summit
2007 to be held at Goa. Nearly 200+ partners from across India are expected to
attend the event.

In another move, Canon India has rolled out 'IT Image at School Program'
under which 14 schools have been covered. According to Sajeevan, "The
program is targeted at young consumers in order to educate them about the
technology and provide training on print techniques."

Sajeevan further elaborated, "Children today belong to a very important
consumer segment and we would cover a total of 125 schools in a span of nine
months from July 2007. We are driving this initiative in partnership with our
distributors and channel partners as they are the ones who will be doing the
sales."

Canon India meanwhile plans to increase its channel base to 525 by adding 225
more new partners in east India within the next six months. The company would be
aggressively looking at increasing market share in the whole of East India,
which includes West Bengal, the seven sisters of the North East and BiJhOr
(comprising of Bihar, Jharakand and Orissa).
