CAT Computers launches Quick Heal 2008 edition

Pune: Pune-based CAT Computers has recently launched its latest edition of
Quick Heal anti-virus-Total Security 2008, enriched with PC-to-mobile scanning
as well as anti-phishing toolbar features added to its regular features like,
anti-virus, anti-spyware, firewall, anti-spam, anti-rootkit, data theft
protection, etc.

“The PC-to-mobile scan is our patented technology in India as well as the
in US. It is not required to install this anti-virus in the handset. The user
can connect his phone to the PC by Bluetooth or USB chord and get his mobile
scanned,” said Jagannath Patnaik, VP-Sales and Marketing, CAT Computer
Services. According to Patnaik, this is a bonus feature that Quick Heal is
offering to its customers without any extra cost. While researching, the company
claims to have found 300 existing mobile malware and the figure is bound to
increase. “It is becoming essential for any mid and high-end mobile user to
get his handset scanned regularly. The new version is priced at the same cost,
but we have added these features as value additions,” he added.

With this feature, the company is targeting a wide range of users and is
optimistic to hit a large-scale market since it will give the customers dual
benefits at single cost. “This feature was developed keeping in mind the
requirements of Indian users, who long for value for money products, which are
less complicated. The user base for smartphones is increasing day-by-day, and
that will make our product more popular,” informed Patnaik. The product will
also be launched in Malaysia soon.

Manohar Malani, CEO, NCS Computech, who is a distributor for Quick Heal in
East India said, "Quick Heal has been accepted very compassionately in eastern
India, as our user base has grown manifold in the last two years. With the
addition of this new feature, the product will gain even more popularity."

The company is also planning to tap the telecom channel partners beside the
IT channel to sell Quick Heal 2008. "The Quick Heal 2008 version comes with
the direct PC to mobile scan feature and I am sure it will attract everyone who
use a feature-rich mobile phone. Therefore, telecom channel would be an ideal
medium to promote this product," explained Malani. Since it's a new
technology, NCS is also planning to organize an extensive training program for
its partners across all regions.
