Celebrating the efforts of eastern channel

Once again, channel partners celebrated jointly as The DQ Week Kolkata hosted
its fourth awards night in Kolkata. Like every year, the eastern chapter of the
annual event was supported by partners who participated in large numbers from
all across eastern India.

The night started with a welcome note by Ibrahim Ahmad, Group Editor, The DQ
Week and was followed by a presentation by Sanjeev Soni, Country Manager-India,
Amconics Infotech Solution. At the event Amconics also showcased its latest
range of LCD monitors.

The DQ Week Awards were given out to 25 partners under various categories,
which covered 11 locations across eastern India. For the first time a new
category was introduced this year as the jury decided to honor partners from
South Bengal, which includes industrially rich places like Durgapur, Asansol and
Burdwan.

The awards were decided by an independent set of panelists based on
parameters like overall reach of the partner, service attitude, long term
commitment to business, quantum of business, financial strength and last but not
the least, expertise and knowledge in the products range that the partner sells.

This year the panelists for East region included Sanchari Banerjee, RSM-East,
IT Sales, Samsung India, Sukanta Mukhopadhyay, Regional Manager-Consumer Sales,
East, IPG, HP India, Sanjay Saha, Regional Manager, Redington India and Subir
Mohapatra, Senior Branch Manager, Ingram Micro.

VK Bhandari, CMD, Supertron Electronics gave out the first sets of awards to
the northeast partners. Computer Link won the award for Best Channel Partner for
the second time in a row from Agartala. From Guwahati, the silver award for Best
Channel Partner went to Infotech International while Datamation Services bagged
the gold award. Indian Export & Import Company bagged the best channel
partner award from Shillong for the second time in a row.

Banerjee gave out the second set of awards. For Siliguri, which is on the way
to be the next IT hot spot, Logic Fusion made its debut by bagging the silver
award while Micro Infosystem won the gold award. For the first time, Sunflower
Electronics from Aizawl bagged the best channel partner award for Upcountry
Northeast.

Moving on from the hills to the Gangetic plains, Peripheral Engineers walked
away with the silver for best channel partner for Patna, while Astric Computers
completed its hat trick by bagging the gold. Mukhopadhyay presented the next set
of awards. The silver award for best channel partner from Bhubaneswar went to
Infocare Solutions while SA Infosys bagged the gold award for third time in a
row. For the fifth consecutive time the best channel partner award from the
steel city of Jamshedpur was won by Galaxy Infocom. From Ranchi Computers India
Corporation bagged the best channel partner award. Asansol-based Unitel bagged
the newly introduced best channel partner award for South Bengal.

Finally, the awards were given out to the contenders from Kolkata. Rajesh
Khurana, Country Manager-India and SAARC, Seagate, gave out the first set of
awards. Lalani Infotech was once again adjudged the best media reseller. The
silver award for best retailer went to Computer Exchange while Optima Infotech
won the gold. For the reseller category the silver award went to Saboo Computers
while the gold was bagged by Berlia Compu System.

Ibrahim Ahmad gave out the last set of awards. Making its hat trick, Chabria
Infotech bagged the best software reseller award. Wizer Technologies won the
silver in system integration category while Embee Software bagged the gold
award. Both the companies won their respective awards for the second time in a
row.

Caltron and Alco Infotech jointly bagged the silver award for best sub
distributor while for the fifth time in a row Supreme Technologies bagged the
gold award. Amconics is the official sponsor of the event while Linksys is the
associate sponsor.
