Change of guard at WD again

David Nair, Country Manager of Western Digital India (WD) has quit his job.
This was revealed by sources close to the company as well as by one of its
distributors. Repeated efforts to get in touch with David were unsuccessful.

He has joined Kolkata-based Xenitis Group from 1st March as CEO. "He
will be sitting at our Nariman Point office in Mumbai," said Santanu Ghosh,
Director, Xenitis Group. The company has shifted its corporate office to Mumbai,
with operational headquarters based at Delhi. "I am surprised to hear that
David is leaving so abruptly, because just a couple of days ago, he was charting
out channel programs and promotions for the current month," said a source
in Priya.

Ajay Kapure held David´s position in WD till a year ago. David had assumed
the post of Country Manager just a couple of months ago. When he leaves, it is
expected that the vendor will depute someone from its Singapore office to come
and handle operations in India.

The company has three other regional managers on its payroll and two national
distys in the country-Priya and Tech Pacific India. In a bid to be more
competitive in the market, it had recently extended the warranty period on its
hard drives to five years in India.
