Chennai Holds Sixth Annual Awards Night

In a glittering ceremony held in Chennai, 52 partners fromcities across South
India walked away with the top honors at the sixth annual The DQ Week Awards
night.The awards, which were decided by an independent jury comprising of
vendors and distributors, aim at honoring the channel partners who have excelled
not only in doing business but also in adopting transparent business practices.

This year the jury comprised Devendra Rawat from Ingram Micro; Praveen
Srivastava from Intel India, Narayan Sundarrajan from HP and Nandukumar from
Redington India. The award show kicked off with the title sponsor Amconics
launching their new products and announcing the opening of their branch office
in Chennai.

In attendance were not only the jury members but also some of the most
prominent members of the IT community, chief among them being S Srinivasan,
Executive Director-Sales and Mar­keting, Numeric Power Systems and PS Neogi,
President, Redington India, who also gave away a few of the awards.

In the upcountry regions of Andhra Pradesh Digital World won the Best Channel
Award for Vijayawada, while Kolla Innovative Infotech took home the same honor
for the sixth time for Vizag. For the pearl capital on India, Hyderabad, Premier
Diginet Systems was adjudged the Best Media Reseller while Alliance Prosys
bagged the Best Software Reseller award.

The silver award in the retail category went to Compaq World and the gold to
Laptop World. Similarly in the reseller category, Brahmand Computers got the
silver while Vishal Peripherals walked away with the gold. In the system
integration category Microcare Computers and Cache Peripherals won silver and
gold respectively. The silver in sub distribution went to Shwetha Computers and
Peripherals and the gold to Compage Computers.

For God's own country, Kerala, One Zero Info Solutions won for Calicut and
Southern Associates made a hat trick of awards for Thrissur. Logtech Infoway
made a record by winning the Best Channel Partner award for Trivandrum for the
sixth time in a row.

For Cochin Focuz Computers was adjudged the Best Retailer, Nortech Infonet
the Best SI,

Positive Systems the Best Reseller and Aldous Glare the Best Sub Distributor.

Syscon Systems started the awards for Karnataka by walking away with the Best
Channel Partner award for Belgaum. It was followed by Balar Intertrade, who won
the Best Channel Partner for Hubli for the third time. While GS Distributors and
Systems Needs won for Mangalore and Mysore respectively.

In Bangalore, Alpha Consumables took home the award for media reselling and
Kinfotech for software reselling. In the retail category the silver and gold
were won by Computer Planet and Karthik Business Machines respectively. While
Supreme Computers got the silver in reseller category with the gold going to
Geeta Electronics. Value Point Systems won the silver in the SI category with
Frontier Business Systems being awarded the gold. In the sub distribution
category the silver went to Jain Computers and Communication and the gold for
the second time to Megabyte Corporation.

For Erode, the award winner was Zigma Computer Links. In Madurai this time
the jury decided to give away two awards and thus the silver for best channel
partner went to Pentagon's Compu Shop while the gold to Premier Systems and
Peripherals. For the idyllic city of Pondicherry Indica Computers won the award
for second year in a row. For Trichy the award went to Fusion Systems while
Avalon Data Products came up trumps

for Tirunelvelli for the fourth time in the last five years.

In Coimbatore the silver award went to Micro Systems while Init Systems
bagged the gold.

In Chennai, Pelikan Office Automation won the Best Media Reseller for the
third time while Veeras Infotek also made it a third in a row for software
reselling. In retail category the gold was bagged by first timer IT@Home, while
the silver went to Access.

In the SI category, the silver went to Quadsel Systems and the gold for the
fifth time was bagged by Precision Group. Mukesh Infoserve won the

gold in the reseller category, while the silver jointly went to Sri Lakshmi
System Products and Modern Computers.

The final category for the evening was sub distribution in which Devraj
Computers got the silver while Supreme Computers got the gold award for the
sixth time.
