Chirag to go national

Kolkata-based RP Infosystems is back in the running once again with Chirag,
its PC brand. The company plans to go national soon and has launched its
operation in the North and West.

After its much-hyped launch in mid 2005, Chirag failed to create any waves in
the market. It largely remained dormant, except for occassional local promotions
or sales activities. Talking about its forced absence from the market for a
while, Probir Majumdar, VP-Sales and Marketing, RP Infosystems said that the
brand was not performing well because of the lack of focus.

“There was some internal restructuring and redefining of market strategies
happening and now that the plan and infrastructure has been readied, Chirag is
back with a whole new approach,” added Majumdar. He noted that the brand passed
through a transition, thus making a comeback plan in a bigger manner, with a
national flavor to it.

In a bid to revive the PC brand, RP Infosystems has roped in cricketer Sourav sGanguly as brand ambassador
