New Delhi : Diverting its focus from government to corporate and SMB
segment, Cincom appointed Mumbai-based NPS Infotech as its partner to resell

segment directly and has recently forayed into channel space by appointing
Bengaluru-based Ace Infotech as its first channel partner.

The company is expecting to appoint 20 partners by February 2009 and is
targeting to develop a base of 10-15 customers by March 2009. Cincom is in the
mode of developing a base of partners, thereby providing them training and
support for selling and implementing the solution.

For the past two years now, Cincom was generating 80 percent of its revenue
from government and rest from corporate and SMB segment.

Explaining the reason for shifting the focus, Pantulu Avasarala, Director,
Cincom Systems mentioned that in government the timeframe of executing a project
is higher in comparison to corporate segment and therefore, this shift will
accelerate the business. "The presence of channel will provide us a better reach
in the market as the partners already have their network of customers," he said.

Speaking on the process of channel appointment, Avasarala said, "We were
looking for partners who have sound vertical knowledge and besides they can add
value to the available products so that customers get benefit. We do not have
intention to create competition in the market and will work with limited number
of partners who have the expertise of translating the products into value for
customers."

Cincom would be focusing on manufacturing, healthcare, insurance and BPO as
its prime vertical. Currently, the company will have two to three partners in
South, West and North India.
