CMDA goes for ISO certification

Pune-based Computer Media Dealers Association (CMDA) is in the process of
getting certified for ISO. “We are one of the first reseller associations to go
for an ISO 9001:200 certification. Right now we are in the training phase. Two
months down the line there will be an audit for the same,” informed Shital Nahar,
Secretary, CMDA.

The certification process involves a lot of disciplined paperwork. “We have
already begun the process of getting the association certified. This is an
attempt to streamline the process that the association is trying to put in
place,” said Brijen Shah, President, CMDA.

“The attempt is to keep the practices intact and transparent, irrespective of
the person in-charge of the duties. This will definitely help us in the long run
and benefit partners at the end of the day.”

The certification will be a milestone for the association and is being done
for the welfare of partners. CMDA is also involved in the arbitration of partner
issues. The arbitration is done between partners, distributors and with vendors
as per the requirement of the circumstances.

A recent case resolved involved a case of faulty high-end switches. The
dealer, who was trying for eight-odd months to get the credit note, had the
issue resolved within a week's time after CMDA intervened between the partner
and the principle company. The association's AGM is scheduled for April end.
