The two-day health check up camp on April 18-19 was conducted in two hospitals simultaneously - Joshi Hospital for Pune-based members and Aditya Birla Hospital for Pimpri-Chinchwad members. This year around 140 members attended the camp, which is an increase of 20 percent over last year.

Every year CMDA tries to incorporate new enhancements into the health camps based on member feedback. This year too new tests were added in free package.

Tests worth Rs 1000 per member were conducted free of cost. CMDA had negotiated with hospitals for additional tests. A 15 percent discount was offered on additional tests such as stress test, bone testing, etc.

co-operated with CMDA committee for arrangements at Aditya Birla hospital.

Besides this, CMDA has started discussions with HP and LG service officials, because it had found that several of its members had complained about after-sales support of HP and LG products. This came to light, when CMDA as part of its systems integrators (SI) forum, collected feedback forms about the quality of support it recd from vendors.

Last week the association had discussions with the LG service head, Richard Ravi Prasad where it raised the concerns about problems faced by the members especially about optical drive problems. According to the LG official, the problem was due to mis-management of the authorized service provider and non-availability of proper man power at ASP was creating these problems.

"From April 1, 2009 LG has stopped the functioning of the existing ASP and has started the company's own service center on Satara Road. It has assured us that all members and end users will see immediate improvements in after sales support," said Shital Nahar, President of CMDA.
