New Delhi: In view of the ill-treatment meted out to its representatives at the recently held Re-India Expo in Mumbai, New Delhi-based Computer Media Dealers Association (CMDA) held an executive body meeting to discuss the course of action to be adopted further to the incident.
Members of the association have resolved to raise the issue with Recharger Magazine, the co-organizer of the event, in addition to seeking details of the contract from the main organizer Trade Expo India Promotions. According to the organizers, CMDA had given prior permission to use its logo, but CMDA denies this.
Elaborating on CMDA's stance on the issue Puneet Singhal, President, CMDA stated, “We have issued a written communication to the organizers of Re-India Expo after discussing the matter at length. We have decided to bring this matter to a logical end and have requested them to provide us with the details of the permission for using our logo, which according to them was sanctioned by us. We have given them a week's time to revert on the issue with enough proof. If they fail to respond we will take necessary steps to ensure that such an incident is not repeated.”
Singhal further added that CMDA has issued a supporting letter to Indian Cartridge Remanufacturers and Recyclers Association (ICRRA), another Bangalore-based re-filler and re-manufaturers association, that was also looking at holding an event of similar nature and had sought CMDA's support for the same. However, no such letter was ever issued to Trade Expo India Promotions.
Reacting to Singhal's statement, Veerendra Chopra, a member of the Trade Expo India Promotion mentioned, “We are in the process of collating information and relevant documents and will soon forward them to CMDA.”
