COM IT kicks off first day of expo

Mumbai: The Trade Association of Information Technology (TAIT), Mumbai hosted its first day of the third international IT exhibition and conference, COM-IT expo 2009. The event has put over 90 stalls in the exhibition, where vendors like NComputing, Kingston and many more had participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. TAIT officials stated that companies like Cisco, Lexmark and Belkin had taken part in the event expo for the first time.

Speaking on the occasion, Ketan Patel, President, TAIT said, “Looking at the scale of this event which is enormous, the next four days will show how much excitement it creates in the IT industry, not only in Mumbai, but all over the country.”

"The reason that exhibition is successful on the first day itself is that it is not often that the customers get such opportunity to see a huge range of IT products under one roof," added Patel.

The event organized a two-day conference as well. These seminars will be divided respectively for corporate customers and the channel partners.

By means of this expo, the association is aiming to offer a common platform for the vendors and channel partners to showcase their products and technology solutions, and at the same time interact with people who make strategic decisions.
There are several launches of new products and services slated during the event. Patel also highlighted a point that this year, the participation of the IT companies has increased drastically by 50 percent compared to last year.

On the first day, COM-IT witnessed resellers, distributors, value-added resellers, solution providers and software companies displaying products and technology.

The first day of the conference also saw prominent speakers like Rakesh Bakshi, Legal Head, Microsoft; Rajesh Gupta, Director-Sales and Marketing, Intel India; Mohit Anand, Country Head, Belkin India; Kensaku Konishi, MD, Canon India; Mukesh Gupta, MD, AOC India and many other industry dignitaries talking about the innovation in technology and latest trends and upcoming technologies.
