Compass drops annual expo

Compass has called off its expo expecting poor footfalls due to the general
elections, which might raise security concerns. Sources in Compass revealed that
the IT association was forced to rethink its scheduled date primarily due to the
IPL schedule. Coupled with that, as the nation is about to face the Lok Sabha
elections, security concerns have risen. Also, the ground that Compass was
planning to hold its expo on is usually used for elections, so a clash was
expected there as well.

“At a time like this we cannot risk holding an IT expo as it might lead to
low footfall. Our members are not keen on going on with the expo. We foresee
that with the increased number of police force in the venue there may be parking
problems as well,” a source said.
