Compass to elect new team

The Computer Association of Eastern India (Compass) is all set to conduct its
annual general meeting (AGM) next month. To be held on Sep 8, the association
will elect its executive body and office bearers for the year 2006-07, during
the meeting.

According to market reports, Alok Garodia of Jupiter International is likely
to take over as the new president. Among its senior members, Garodia is the only
one who has not yet taken up the coveted post. The other members include VK
Bhandari of Supertron, KL Lalani of Lalani Infotech and AK Jalan of Jalan
Infotech, who have served their respective terms earlier.

According to sources, Garodia has been requested to take over the post since
Compass members had unanimously decided that someone new should be elected as
the President and carry forward the good work done by the predecessors. At the
same time, he should have enough authority and experience to handle the stature
of being President of Compass.

When contacted, Garodia refused to comment on the rumor. He said that things
would be finalized during the AGM during which the name of the new President
would be revealed. However, he said that if such a responsibility were to come
on his shoulders, it would be a matter of great honour for him to take up the
role.
