Compex integrates Pseudo VLAN wireless products

Compex has invented a feature known as Wireless Pseudo VLAN which provides
privacy and security of data protection between individual users. This feature
on Compex’s wireless access points provides multiple levels of inter-client
security and enables specific wireless clients to be fully integrated into a
corporate network.

In most hotspots, notebooks have no security at all and files could be viewed
by an unauthorized person. Recognizing this security issue, Compex invented the
wireless Pseudo VLAN, which is integrated in its NetPassage series wireless
access points and gateways. The NetPassage allows each Pseudo VLAN group to have
a number of MAC addresses assigned. From then on, whenever a wireless client
requests access, the WAP first verifies that it’s MAC address is included in
any of the Pseudo VLAN groups. If it is a valid MAC, then the AP grants access
to all of the wired system resources, and also (only) to the other wireless
clients belonging to the same Pseudo VLAN group.
