saw an increase from Rs 612 crore to Rs 804 crore.

However, the company accounted only marginal growth in the face of this due
hike, to increased finance and operating expenses. This was further justified in
the face of economic slowdown due to which a precautionary attitude was observed
along with subsequent decrease in its operations. The company concludes that
this resulted in lower revenue and higher costs and consequently lower profits.

Last fiscal year, Compuage concentrated on improving its operation strengths
and decided to increase its branch offices from 45 to 51, especially in the C
and D-class cities. It also invested in a channel expansion drive, adding over
1,500 more partners taking its channel network strength to 6,909 dealers.
Besides this, the company also increased its service centers to 47 facilities.

The company also tried to bridge the gaps in its portfolio and added brands
like HP's commercial printers, plotters and supplies, and AOC's monitors. Among
the other new tie-ups Linksys was significant for its range of networking
products aimed at SMB and enterprise customers.
