Computer Association of Burdwan gears up for Compex 2008

Kolkata: Computer Association of Burdwan (CAB) is all set to organize its
annual IT exhibition in Burdwan. Named as Compex, this is the sixth chapter of
the expo and will be held at the Municipal Boys School Ground, Burdwan from
January 23-31. The exhibition will be organized at Bardhaman Utsab premise.
"We will have visitors from all the five districts that include Burdwan,
Bankura, Birbhum, Hooghly and Murshidabad," said Sumit Ranjan Das,
President, CAB. "The biggest mileage which we get from the event is the
prospective lead that Compex generates from the unexplored upcountry
territories. It gives CAB members good business throughout the year," he
added.

Last year the show had witnessed 6 lakh footfalls and this year it is
expecting around 9 lakh footfalls during the nine-day period. In order to
accommodate more stalls as well as visitors, the association has increased the
exhibition area to 4000sqft. "Last year we had a large number of visitors
who had blocked the area and it was a choc-a-block situation. Therefore this
year we have made the floor layout better," informed Das.

This time around 40 stalls and pavilions are being erected and the association
is expecting the participation from 25 companies including CAB members and OEMs.
"Every year we get good response from the vendors who as well as through
their partners," stated Das.

This time CAB is expecting participation from Quick Heal, Lenovo, Epson and
TVSE and indirect participation from vendors like Intel, HP, Compaq, Canon, LG,
HCL, D-Link.

The association will also conduct inter school presentation and poster
competition in association with Burdwan Rotary Club.
