Confed plans 10-city training program

Chennai: Confed-ITTA plans to conduct a 10-city training program for
channel partners in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The statewide rollout would be a
day long training program that would be conducted across 10 major cities,
including Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Madurai, Puducherry, Trichy and Salem, to
name a few. The prime motive behind the training program is to enhance the
awareness of the developments happening in the IT industry and the vendor
community, which is lacking among the channel.

'Confed would like to address the wide gap on the knowledge segment that
exists among the channel community. This training program will have three
sessions. The first session will include a presentation on business
opportunities with the corporate customers and new developments happening among
the vendor community. The second session would offer training on the
engineering, technical aspects and the third session would be an interactive
session between channels and customers,' informed PN Prasad, President,
Confed-ITTA.

Hinting that Confed has zeroed in on vendors like Samsung for taking the meet
forward, Prasad said that Confed is looking at associating with more vendors and
the meeting would be rolled out immediately after the sponsorships are
finalized. He said that the vendor community has shown keen interest in taking
the meet forward.

The federation also announced plans to conduct its second 'Get Together 2
Grow Together' meet in April 2009. The meet, proposed to be held in Puducherry,
will see the vendor and channel community interact and discuss various
issues.'We would discuss various issues pertaining to the channel community and
would also hear the vendor community's point of view. As the theme of the year
for Confed is 'Expanding Horizons,' we would like to know more about the new
areas of business and new opportunities vendors are offering the channels. It is
all about enhancing the relationship between the two communities,' Prasad
averred.
