Connoisseur Electronics forms JV in Sri Lanka

Bangalore-based PC manufacturer Connoisseur Electronics has formed a JV with a Sri Lankan IT firm Walksideways to manufacture and sell its Connoi range of PCs in the country. Under the JV agreement, Connoisseur will manufacture PCs in Sri Lanka, while Walksideways will be primarily responsible for the distribution business. Both companies have together invested nearly US $1 million towards this JV, which would include setting up an assembly unit in Colombo. 

Commenting on this development, RP Harish Kumar, MD, Connoisseur says, "We see a great potential for our PCs in the Sri Lankan market as the demand is surging there. We would have a similar business model as we have in our Mauritius operations."

While Walksideways will look for retailers/channel partners to further sell Connoi PCs, Connoisseur will provide the entire warranty and RMA support.
