Customization on agenda for WeP

Wep Peripherals will increase its focus on the development of more customized
products and solutions for the India market. Power solutions as well as
solutions in the retail space are likely to roll out over the next few months.
According to Jayant Gundewar, Chief Strategic Officer, WeP Peripherals,"
All our products and solutions are developed based on customer feedback and we
would like to continue that endeavor in the future as well."

Among the new solutions launched for the India market is the 'Double
Conversion Isolated Hi Frequency Boost' (DCB) technology based DCB UPS.
Elaborating on the features of the same, Gundewar said, "Unlike the
prevailing line interactive UPS that supports a single PC and provide a back up
time of about 15 minutes or the very expensive online UPS that requires an
entire room for storage of bulky batteries, the DCB UPS will provide the
benefits of the much costlier online technology UPS at a price which is close to
the more common line interactive UPS." The test launch of the product has
happened in Cochin and Jalandhar and the product is likely to roll out to other
markets by the end of November this year.

According to Gundewar the DCB UPS promises extra long back-up time along with
a low minimum basic price and makes it a good option especially for the SMB
customers.

Indicating that retail would be another area of focus for Wep, Gundewar said
that customers like small shopkeepers would be provided with new and better
automated solutions like the BP40 an automated bill printing machine that comes
at a price of Rs 8000. Such solutions he believes would revolutionize the way
retail business is done not only because it of the automation but also because
of the easy of use and affordable price points.

WeP's meanwhile also plans to invest in and expand its manufacturing
facilities in the country so as to be able to meet the growing demands for
customized products in the Indian market.
