Pune-based Data Care Corp (DCC) has entered into the retail business with its
first retail venture in Pune. According to Anil Mhaske, CEO, DCC, "With
shrinking margins, we did not have any other option, so we decided to enter the
retail market with our first store. The response to our store has been very
good. We will test the retail market for five to six months and then decide on
whether we want to expand on this front or not."
DCC started off in Pune in 1991 and has achieved various awards from leading
vendors for its performance. The company claims to be the city's largest
distributor. Last fiscal, the company posted revenue of Rs 140 crore,
registering a profit of 11 percent over the previous fiscals turnover of Rs 125
crore. Mhaske is now looking to touch the Rs 200 crore mark with the plans he
has lined up for the company.
DCC is a regional distributor for LG, Sony and Epson and the sub- distributor
for HP, Lenovo, IBM, Seagate, Intel etc.
