Datacraft bags deal from Airtel

Datacraft has announced that it bagged a contract to supply, install, deploy
and maintain a carrier Ethernet network from Bharti Airtel.

According to the contract Datacraft would deploy a carrier-grade Ethernet
network connecting 110 locations across Bangalore.

The network allows the service provider to provide business customers with
VPN services and high-speed Internet access while offering retail customers new
video, IPTV and voice content-based services, Datacraft said in a statement.

The new carrier Ethernet network would be integrated into the service
provider's core MPLS network and give it a strong foundation for a secure,
flexible and intelligent triple-play transport network.

"The new carrier Ethernet network will enable them to seamlessly deliver
innovative high-bandwidth services and stay ahead of the competition," said
the country manager of Datacraft India, Sunil Manglore.

"They will be able to offer better performance, more innovative services
and added service level guarantees for customers across multiple segments, thus
ensuring their dominance in the business and consumer segments of the
market," he added.

Atul Bindal, president, Airtel Broadband and Telephone Services, said,
"This agreement will not only serve to enhance our network but will also
enable us to offer our customers a significantly superior service and value
proposition. The network will be the gateway to next generation services for our
customers and help us consolidate our leadership position."
