Dax announces `Towards the Core' strategy

Chennai-based Dax Networks, a networking company, has announced `Towards the Core' strategy, as part of its plan to move up the value chain in
business.

Dax is now focusing more on enterprise solution, targeting the end-user
segment. The `Towards the Core' strategy will make Dax concentrate more on hi-end solutions such as switching-cabling-routing solution. "Out of the Rs
3,000 crore networking market in India, 45% comes from this core solution. 

Realizing the business potential here, Dax also wants to make more money from this segment. "Presently, only 22% of the revenue comes from core
solutions which will be increased to 34% in the next two years, out of  the revenue target of Rs 85 crore for the year 2005-06," said Dax Networks
Country Manager C Sujit Singh.

The company has recently embarked on an alliance partner program to sign up with top networking players in the company, by product and segment. The
company is focusing on all the 400-plus regional system integrators and 20 national players to push its core solution. "Soon, we will sign up with
six national players," Singh informed.

The company is also extending solutions to hi-end category such as Layer 4 to Layer 7 switches, hi-throughput routers, 10G copper cabling, etc.
