DDA drive to remove hawkers

Joint efforts made by The DQ Week and Manisha Sood of SanDisk, in the form of
'Nehru Place Ko Chamkao' campaign seems to be bearing fruits. The campaign has
been initiated to restore the past glory of Nehru Place.

Recently, DDA authorities have issued a notice, declaring Nehru Place a
No-Hawkers' Zone. Taking actions to drive them away, DDA conducted a drive on
Nov 5 to remove the illegal software dealers and hawkers operating on the
footpaths in the area. Crowds gathered to watch as the police, who came with
their men, removed hoardings and pamphlets/posters from the walls of the common
area.
