Dell encourages 'green' behavior

Dell has introduced two new initiatives designed to promote a green approach
towards technology adoption for consumers in India-discount coupons and the
'Dell Go Green Challenge'. These initiatives are the latest in Dell's mission to
make 'being green' easy and cost-effective for customers.

Customers in India who send their old systems to Dell for free recycling will
be eligible for special discount coupons, toward the purchase of their next Dell
system. This coupon, offering a discount of Rs 1,000, may be used for purchasing
any Dell system, directly from Dell for any of its product lines. Dell hopes
that the recycling discount coupons will encourage PC recycling among its
consumers. Available globally, Dell has now extended its free recycling program
for consumers in India to accept computers from any vendor.

The 'Dell Go Green Challenge' is an effort to raise awareness and community
involvement in green initiatives in India. The challenge invites users to share
photographs, videos and other innovative depictions of key issues, concerns or
thoughts on green technology at www.dellgogreen.com. The contest will run for
two months, during which the community will vote for their favorite entries.

Additionally, the forum will offer a platform for the green enthusiasts to
gather in the virtual space and share ideas, thoughts and visions on the issue.
The 20 entries receiving the most votes from the community will be recognized
online and through small gifts, while a panel of judges, selected for their
longstanding commitment to environmental concerns, will decide the three winning
entries. The winning entry will receive a Dell Inspiron 14-inch laptop, the
first runner-up will receive a Dell Mini and the second runner-up, the Dell
Inspiron Zino.

fact the first computer company to offer its consumers free recycling worldwide,
and both these initiatives are designed to create awareness among consumers on
recycling of PCs in India."
