Edimax to appoint 30 sub-distis

New Delhi : Edimax Technology, a Taiwan-based company dealing in wireless networking products, is strengthening its base in the Indian market by building its channel base. The company has appointed Jupiter International and Neoteric Infomatique as its national distributor and is planning to appoint 30 sub-distributors by this year-end. The company had started its direct operation in India in October this year and is now in the process of building its manpower team.

Speaking on Edimax's late entry into the Indian market, Ravians Kumar, Sales Director-India, Edimax Technology said,
"It is not that we are late in entering in Indian market. We have been doing extensive research to sustain and grow in the market, which is already dominated by various players. We were looking for the right opportunity and set of distributors who could drive our product in the market. This is the right time to reach customers through the channel
mode."

Sharing their strategies to build a strong market place in India, Kumar said, "Our main strategy is to make our service and support system robust. Service is a big concern for us. As per the channel feedback, service, support and warranty has to be a flexible process that should provide maximum support to the end customers and channel
partners."

For strengthening its warranty system, Edimax is opting for an online tracking warranty system that will be designed to provide maximum convenience to customers for claiming their warranty and will be handled by the company itself.

While strengthening its manpower base, Edimax will be appointing four business Development Managers in India to look after the operation.

Commenting on the competition that the company has to face in Indian market, Kumar mentioned that Edimax is one of the few companies that has its own manufacturing and R&D unit that avoids the involvement of any third party.

"This will provide us an edge over other vendors in the market and we are confident to drive our
product," he said.
