Embee Software : On A Fast Track

Kolkata-based Embee Software remained rock steady with its performance
throughout the year. Achieving a steep growth at 84 percent in 2007-08, this was
a quick depart from its erstwhile year's growth performance of 12 percent.
Having secured a continued growth in its topline, Embee emphasized more on
reinforcing its bottomline. Not only did it streamline its internal work
processes, it also focused more towards consolidating its business with existing
product lines rather than entering into any major collaborations. A major
breakthrough for the company came in form of its ERP licensing and
implementation with SAP that took place in FY 2007-08 that helped it carve a
niche for itself in the SMB and SME segment. This also signaled the company's
move to tap the growing SMB segment in India, which contributed 60 percent to
its overall revenues.

The bulk of Embee's revenue comes from the services front which accounts for
60 percent of its total revenue. It also got a major fillip to its annuity
services following the bagging of an FMS contract by an emerging corporate
having a pan Indian presence in the manufacturing vertical.
