Empowering Women in IT (eWIT) celebrates 7th anniversary

 

Empowering Women in IT (eWIT), a voluntary, not-for-profit women's forum conceptualized by a group of IT Professionals in India, celebrated its 7th anniversary amongst the IT glitterati in Chennai.

 

Founded in 2006, eWIT has been serving as a premier forum for exchange of ideas and pioneering initiatives to unleash the potential of women and their growth in the IT industry. The theme for this year's anniversary event was ‘The Power of Networking'. Over 250 IT professionals attended the event.

Jennifer A McIntyre, consulate general, US was the chief guest of the program. Eminent leaders from the IT/ITeS industry presented an in-depth analysis of the current scenario of women in IT and exhorted the need for networking to enable women IT professionals to achieve their highest potential through fostering a stimulating environment, where women can build alliances, share knowledge, and provide support to one another.

 

Key panelists included Usha Mohan, co-founder & managing director, Triumph India Software Services, Chandu Nair, entrepreneur advisor, Sumathi Srinivas, MD, Rays Publication and Sujitha Karnad, head, Human Resources & Software Quality, Tech Mahindra, spoke extensively on some very important issues concerning women in IT/ITeS industry. The session was moderated by Ms. Sudha Gopalakrishnan, partner & global quality head, Polaris Financial Technology.
