has recently
announced that they have successfully completed the integration of
Excelocity's XL-Gateway, a framework for building Voice/Video IP
solutions, and Aricent's Converged Access Software (CAS), a
software framework for multi-service gateways for the Intel CAP24-60
Multi-Service Business Gateway reference HW platform.

“We are pleased to be launching this
VoIP
solution
, based on the XL-Gateway and the Intel CAP24-60
platform,” said Goutam Shaw, President and Founder, Excelocity.
“The universal nature of our XL-Gateway Frameworks, via its adaptor
modules, allowed us to quickly adapt to Intel's DSP and TDM
interfaces while keeping XL-Gateway's core engines unchanged. It is
good to see XLG and CAS, the two complementary products, working
together to enable multi-service gateway solutions for our
customers,” he added.

The Excelocity XL-Gateway Framework
introduces a new class of an open (software development kit) SDK for
the development of embedded Multimedia (Voice/Video) gateways. It
significantly reduces the product development costs from
multi-millions of dollars to hundreds of thousands and the time to
market from years to months. The XL Gateway Framework presents a
modular, highly scalable architecture with high level APIs for call,
media, signaling and OAMP control. Its availability on the CAP24-60
reference platform, along with its integration with CAS, will offer
an almost turnkey solution to equipment vendors. It has been
pre-integrated with third party TDM and IP signaling protocol stacks
and provides the multimedia path and call control for all
combinations of FXS, FXO, ISDN, CAS and SIP calls over PSTN, LAN and
WAN networks. The framework provides powerful APIs that remove the
complexity of managing the underlying hardware resources and enables
designers to easily build Next-Generation services and applications.

“We are very excited to be working
with Intel and Excelocity to provide a complete Multiservice Business
Gateway Solution for the CAP24-60 platform,” said CP Murali, Senior
VP, Aricent. “Today's equipment manufacturers face enormous
complexities associated with developing, qualifying and deploying
advanced Voice/Video IP solutions. The combination of the Aricent and
Excelocity Software frameworks can dramatically enhance the capacity
for networking vendors to deliver reliable, feature rich
multi-service gateway products,” he added.

Aricent's CAS solution is a
comprehensive software package for equipment manufacturers that span
several product categories such as Residential/Home Gateways,
Business Service Routers and Multi-Services Business Gateways
(MSBGs). CAS enables vendors to develop integrated modular devices on
a single software platform.

Integrating technology components such
as switching, security, voice services and Wi-Fi from multiple
vendors not only increases integration and maintenance costs, but
also adds significant delays to new product introductions. Aricent
Converged Access Solution is a comprehensive software package
allowing equipment manufacturers to develop integrated modular
devices on a single software platform.

Aricent Converged Access Solution
enables vendors to rapidly develop new products in various form
factors, while reducing integration and maintenance costs. Using the
CAS software, equipment vendors can develop a single integrated
device that is highly flexible and scalable to meet the requirements
of new services and applications.

“The combination of the Excelocity's
XL-Gateway, Aricent's CAS, and Intel's CAP24-60 robust reference
hardware platform, provides a strong development platform for
developing scalable multi-service gateway solutions,” said Steve
Price, Director-Performance Products Marketing, Intel.

With Excelocity's XL-Gateway,
Aricent's CAS, and Intel's CAP24-60 robust reference hardware
platform, equipment vendors have a clear starting point for
developing their highly robust and scalable multi-service gateway
solutions. The CAP24-60 reference platform with XLG and CAS demo
software can be ordered from Excelocity and Aricent for evaluation
purposes.
